For the past year, For Closure has been steadily releasing track after track of emo-tinged alt-rock and punk anthems, each one hinting that something special was brewing. This band, made up of seasoned musicians from UK Subs, The Freeze, F.Y.P., Rhythm Collision, The Killing Flame, and Justice League (to name a few), has just released their debut LP Cliffside Serenades. It pulls together all of their singles from the past year, along with (I believe) four brand new tracks.
These songs have a story stretching back even further—they were initially written for another project called For Sale before being reimagined and refined by the five friends who make up For Closure. It’s easy to hear the chemistry of a group playing purely for the love of it, driven by a shared history and genuine camaraderie. For fans of Samiam and Bob Mould, this is a band that knows how to craft anthems that hit all the right notes.
Cliffside Serenades is out now via Mindpower Records.
