More than a year and a half after their debut album and i can’t breathe enough, the French shoegazers from Cosmopaark are back with the Backyard EP. This time they went to a professional recording studio, where they explored the complete technological spectrum, but only used what suited the identity we got to know on their previous release. It led to five new tracks with richer textures, at times deliberately squeaky and crackling, but always dreamy and compelling. It’s a perfect setting for the somewhat dark lyrics: “Enjoy the scenery // Enjoy the symmetry // Will you make me forget? // That’s what you said to me // I don’t feel anything that can make me forgive” (from Olive Tree).

Backyard, produced by Pierre Loustaunau, is out digitally and on cassette through Howlin’ Banana Records and Stellar Frequencies.
