Remember Portland’s slacker twee outfit Parlor Hour? They’ve since relocated to New York, but not before recording Little Known Secret, their final EP from their Portland days, captured in a sweaty basement in 2023. While this EP closes the Portland chapter, it’s just the beginning of what promises to be a creatively rich NYC era.

Little Known Secret features seven varied tracks of excellent indie rock. Expect crunchy, distorted guitars and punchy drumming, nicely contrasted by sweet vocals that sit low in the mix. The new sound is less poppy and twee than their earlier work and more shoegazey, but Parlor Hour still remain a band to watch.
