If you don’t count their live records, Hablo Raro marks the fourth album from Berlin-based nunofyrbeeswax. It’s a nine-song outsider punk experience that hits the senses in unexpected ways. The album surprises with poppy hooks delivered through offbeat instrumentation and vocals that sometimes feel like an intense poetry reading. The songs, though not complex, are far from straightforward—they’re lo-fi, angular, and hook-laden. A synth or trombone might appear when least expected, adding to the unpredictability. Whether you label it post-punk or post-everything, nunofyrbeeswax operates in a world entirely their own, and it’s a place worth exploring.
Hablo Raro is available now on self-released 12″.
