New album: Peace de Résistance || Lullaby For The Debris

Intriguing art rock with a New York feel

After multiple plays, I still can’t quite wrap my head around the nine songs on Lullaby For the Debris, but something inside keeps bringing me back to them. We’re talking about the sophomore album from Peace de Résistance, a solo project by New York-based multi-instrumentalist Moses Brown (formerly of punk bands Institute and Glue). Lines like “You’re worried we all know // That you are absurd” (from the opening track) and “Well they’ll bail you out for sure // Then you can come back and borrow more” (Fast Money) make that as a listener you feel personally addressed, but even more so it is the grooving music that sets the atmosphere. It is an original melting pot of art rock, glam and post-punk influences, reminiscent of Iggy Pop and Lou Reed, well thought out and wonderfully self-produced.

Lullaby For The Debris, written, performed and recorded by Moses Brown, is out now digitally and on vinyl LP through La Vida Es Un Mus / Peace De Records.
