Lövely Records is one the premiere indie labels of Sweden. They just dropped a 4-band split LP that offers a cross-section of what their label is all about. The LP compiles four new EPs by Sweet Teeth, Statues, GASP, and First in Line. The first two bands sound like Swedish descendents of Bob Mould and J Mascis, delivering a heavy yet melodic alt rock sound. First In Line and GASP display the hardcore/punk portion of Lövely Records, where the former is more on the melodic side and the latter on the screamy side.
All four bands bring something different to the table and, with four EPs for the price of one, you sure get your money’s worth. I am particularly blown away by the three songs by Sweet Teeth, who build on the expectations raised by their previous two releases- find our thoughts on those on our site, while teasing they are only just getting started.
