I have fond memories of the self-titled debut by Argentinian bubblegum pop punks Fievre. They released that one in 2020, and I’ve been rooting for a follow-up full length ever since. But no, Fievre operate at their own pace, releasing a two song-single every twelve months or so. The latest is DALE ENERO!, which translates to something like ‘Let’s Go, January.’
That may come across as words of celebration for the first month of the year, but no, the band wants January to hurry up and get it over with already. “El mes se me hace interminable // Si estoy enero en Buenos Aires // Casi no hay gente en las calles,” they sing. (The month feels endless to me // If it’s January in Buenos Aires // There’s hardly anyone in the streets).
A couple of weeks left, dudes. Hang in there, glad to still have you around. And thanx for bringing some fresh Summer tunes to Winter.
