Exciting new punk bands that take their inspiration from late ‘70s punk seems to be poppin’ up everywhere right now. Plexi Stad, a four piece from Antwerp (Belgium), is a particularly interesting one. Their take on punk is remeniscent of The Clash, but also of more modern angular postpunk bands like Spread Joy and LIIEK. The Probation Baby EP is a promising start for the band, who, to my ears and eyes, would make for a perfect touring companion for their Northern neighbours The Covids.
