A lot of albums – especially the ones we don’t write about 😉 – start with the strongest songs and then fizzle out. But there are also albums that are built up like a good live show, moving in a balanced way towards enthusiasm and ecstasy. Swiss garage punk trio The Revox kick off their self-recorded sophomore LP with the exciting title track, then they roll on with a successful Jimmy Reed cover (Baby What You Want Me To Do) and a few raw originals, to arrive on side B with the central masterpiece Wild Man, after which you give in and let yourself go completely at the raucous tracks that follow (including a second cover: The Benders’ Can’t Tame Me). Ferocious screams, grueling guitars, a reckless organ, everything to make you jump and sweat.
