New album: Crocodiles || Upside Down In Heaven

In 2010, Crocodiles released their sophomore LP Sleep Forever on Fat Possum. I loved it, and I bought it. Strangely, I have no recollection of the five records that came after Sleep Forever. Not sure what happened. Did my taste change or did the band’s sound change? Anyhow, Crocodiles (Brandon Welchez and Charles Rowell) have a new LP out. It’s called Upside Down In Heaven and it makes me want to reconnect with the band. The LP has ten uncomplicated garage pop tunes that are easily digestible, sweet and upbeat, the kind that find a direct route to the reward centre of your brain. I guess it’s no coincidence this sugar rush is released by Lolipop Records.

Pop songs played by garage bands, it’s a concept that never gets old. RIYL: Jacuzzi Boys
