Good news for those who miss American power pop/garage rock band Beyond Veronica. Core members Bonnie Veronica (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Kirk Larsen (lead guitar, backing vocals) continue their journey with new project Panthervision, also featuring Ben Asher (drums, percussion) and Ty Gerhardt (bass). Their full-length debut album, Now in 3-D, is somewhat reminiscent in style of The Muffs (but a little less punk) and Bangles (but harder rocking), but is above all simply highly entertaining. The four musicians just do what they do best, and they even make a cover of Love’s Cant Explain completely their own. The twelve songs here are tuneful, appealing and energetic, with powerful vocals and peppery guitar solos, which will make the hearts of fans of old school power pop and melodic pop-punk beat faster. This is one that you actually want to experience in 4-D.
